Bass Cat River 2 Sea RoboWorm Minn Kota Book Online!
Welcome to So Cal Bass Fishing. Established in 1999, SCBF is the home of California’s premier instructional guide services for Lakes Castaic and Casitas. Arguably, the two most famous trophy lakes in the world, collectively holding records for 8 out of the 15 largest bass ever caught!

My mission statement is simple. Provide those who wish to learn, a platform for advanced and beginning bass fishing education in a fun and safe environment.
Casitas is open for Socalbassfishing

LAKE CASITAS IS CLOSED TO PUBLIC BOATING, BUT REMAINS OPEN TO CUSTOMERS OF SOCALBASSFISHING!

So the question is what happens when you eliminate 99% of the boat traffic on a world famous trophy bass lake? Answer; forget about taking a bass fishing vacation any where else in the world, period. This is not overblown hype; this is an unfortunate situation that, as a result, has made the legendary lake Casitas, virtually my private back yard pond.

• In efforts to prevent being locked out of lake Casitas due to closure, socalbassfishing has a slip and new home on the water at Lake Casitas.
• If you want to learn to bass fish in under circumstances where fishing is easy, now is the time..
• If you are advanced and you want a legitimate shot at a trophy bass, now is the time..

The Lake Casitas water board has suspended all public boating on Lake Casitas, in an effort to help prevent the introduction of the quaggra muscle. The closure has left many anglers, rightfully up in arms as they can no longer fish the legendary trophy bass lake, and there is little consolation for those who spend most of their free time at the lake.

Swimbait Classes are begnning...

SWIMBAIT CLASSES ARE BEGINNING THIS MONTH CALL NOW TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT!

Spring is around the corner as we enter the busiest and best season of the year for bass fishing.

For those of you that don’t know what it’s is like in California during the springtime, the biggest bass come out to spawn and feed up before they spawn, in the shallows. As the water begins to warm up the bass will have an increased metabolism and they will begin to feed more often and become more aggressive.

If you are a beginner and you want to come out and see what makes people love to bass fish, this is the time of year to do it.

This is the easiest time of year to take kids fishing because it is the easies time of year to catch bass.

If you are an advanced angler looking to catch trophy bass on a variety of techniques, this time of year to gain confidence in using lures such as: swimbaits, Senkos, Ikas, power dropshot, texas rig, soft jerkbaits, jigs, sight fishing and more.

I can guarantee that you will have the best opportunity of the year to catch a trophy bass during the next 4 months. It is officially time to turn off your computers and come out of hibernation for the winter. Pre-spawn is starting and it is time to do some fishing now! Trout plants have begun again and we are catching  trophy largemouth. We have had some great action on the top water and subsurface swimbaits at Lake Casitas. I believe that Lake Casitas is going to have an unbelievable year based on what I have seen so far. Do you want to see what it is like to have a double digit bass explode on a twelve inch trout lure? Keep looking out for video footage coming soon. For those of you that want to catch Striper on swimbaits we are waiting for a trout plant at Lake Castaic. I will also be spending some time at the after bay at Lake Castaic this year. For more information on the Castaic after bay, see Castaic Info.
